Digital x-rays

To help improve your oral care we've invested in a newer and faster way of looking for problems in your mouth with digital x-rays. We get immediate images that are clear and accurate, right in your chair. Did you know that digital x-rays uses 90% less radiation than old-fashioned x-rays. Digital x-rays provide us a highly detailed image of your teeth that can be rotated, magnified, adjusted for contrast for your personal education, allowing us to provide you with the highest quality dental care.

Intraoral Camera

In addition to our digital x-rays, the intraoral camera allows us to magnify a tooth’s image 25x allowing you and us to see any problem areas such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities and excessive wear.

Diagnodent

A diagnodent is a diagnostic laser tool that assists us in detecting decay that may not show up on x-rays or the naked eye.

Routine Oral Hygiene (Cleaning)

Periodontal Disease: (Gum therapy)

Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums and loss of bone surrounding the teeth. It’s the Number One cause of adult tooth loss. Most people are not aware that they have periodontal disease since they are rarely painful in their early stages.

Main cause for periodontal disease is plaque- a sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on your teeth if not removed daily. If ignored, calculus/tartar will form and they harbor toxins that can increase tissue inflammation and promote your body defense system to destroy your gum tissue and the bone surrounding your tooth. When this happens professional care is needed beyond regular brushing and flossing.

To fight periodontal disease, we need to reduce plaque, tartar, and the number of bacteria in the pockets in your mouth. Depending on the extent of your periodontal disease in order to keep you comfortable, we may give you local anesthetic before the procedure begins. We use a combination of small scaling instrument and/or an ultrasonic sealer to carefully and meticulously remove plaque and tartar from the top of your tooth all the way down to the bottom of the pocket.

If necessary, an antibiotic or alternative medication may be placed in the gum pocket
after the tooth has been thorough cleaned to control infection and promote healing. Oral antibiotics might also be prescribed to further combat the infection. Once the source of infection has been removed, your gums will begin to heal, and will once again tighten around your teeth. It’s important that homecare (brushing and flossing) is done daily for the continue health of your gums.

Sealants

Sealants are a preventive procedure done to help prevent development of future cavities in children and adults with permanent teeth. Primarily placed on back permanent teeth where the deep and narrow pits and grooves are difficult to clean. A sealant is a thin white acrylic layer that is painted over the pits and grooves to create a smooth and flat tooth surface preventing and minimizing decay.

Restorative/Cosmetic Services

Tooth colored fillings

Non-mercury white filling that is bonded to your natural tooth. It’s a pleasing esthetic option to traditional amalgam (silver) restoration.

Crown

A crown is a permanent restoration that is made of metal (gold), porcelain with a metal core or all porcelain. Crowns are used when the tooth either has a large decay, broken/fractured, been root canal treated, severely discolored or misaligned teeth. They restore function and provide full coverage support of the tooth.

Bridge (fixed partial denture)

A bridge or a fixed partial denture is permanent restoration that is made of either metal (gold) or porcelain with a metal core or a combination. Bridges replaces one or more missing teeth by using adjacent teeth for support.

Inlays and Onlays

Porcelain or gold inlays and onlays is an alternative to bonded fillings. They provide added strength and durability to the remaining tooth structure.

Denture

Dentures are artificial and removable teeth made for those who have lost all their natural teeth.

Partials

Similar to dentures, partials are made of artificial, removable teeth that can be seen with metal or non-metal clasps. They can replace one or more missing teeth and are held in the mouth using your natural teeth for support.

Root canals

Root canal therapy involves removing the infected nerve and/or dead pulp tissue that occurs from tooth decay or dental trauma. Once root canal therapy has been completed many of these teeth will need a crown as a final restoration.

Extractions

A tooth is pulled or extracted when the tooth is no longer restorable with a root canal, crown or filling.

Veneers/Lumineer

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that is bonded to the natural tooth to improve the tooth’s color and shape. A veneer mainly covers the front and top part of a front tooth. Other alternative uses: closing spaces between teeth, lengthen small chip/fracture or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or dark teeth.

** An Examination and diagnostic models will be needed to determine if this is an appropriate option for you.

Whitening

Over time, our teeth darken caused by the food or beverages that we consume everyday, such as: coffee, tea, soda. It can also be caused from the use of tobacco products, traumatic injuries, certain medication, fluorosis, and/or natural aging of our teeth.

We offer two services for whitening: Our take-home custom fit trays using our 3 minute whitening system or our in-office whitening ZOOM! System.

**Prior to you choosing either service a thorough examination is needed to determine if whitening is an appropriate option for you.

Invisalign-Clearer way to a Straighter Smile

Invisalign is a custom-made, removable tray known as aligners. These aligners are worn a minimum of 22 hours per day and only remove when eating, drinking, brushing or flossing.
